AFX Racemasters stock # 9502. Color: White. Car #7. Wheels: Black. Photo ©2015 MSWaterlogged. This is the car in which Phil Hill and Jo Bonnier won the 1966 1000 Kms of Nurburgring. The #7 livery, chassis 2D-001, actually started life in 1963 as Hall’s chassis 2A-001. Famously thrifty, Jim would save money and resources by recycling his old race cars into new ones as he worked constantly to improve performance.

Though it was numbered as “9” the chassis was the same one that had won at Nurburgring the month before. That chassis, 2D-001, actually started life in 1963 as Hall’s chassis 2A-001. At Le Mans, the car was fast and ran as high as 7th before retiring in the 8th hour due to a failed generator.
