Mega-G (MG) Chassis

1.7. AFX Racemasters stock # ?. Release Date: 2008. Chassis material: Nylatron. Traction Magnets: Neodymium. Wheelbase 1.7". This is the first iteration of the new Mega-G chassis. It had removable bulkheads and was lighter and lower than the previous chassis. All bodies attach to the chassis via a slot that accepts tabs built in to the body. 1.5. AFX Racemasters stock # 70639. Release Date: 2010. Chassis material: Nylatron. Traction Magnets: level 30 Neodymium. This is a shorter (1.5") version of the original Mega-G chassis and is based on the second iteration of the Mega-G. It was designed for wider, shorter car bodies. It has shorter pickup shoes and requires a body clip to secure the bodies to the chassis. This chassis fits the GT 40’s, Daytona cobras, stock cars, Porsche’s and will also fit many of the earlier AFX bodies. The MKII version does not have the removable bulkheads and changes were made to the magnets to adhere to tightened federal child safety laws. They had 7 tooth pinion and 25 tooth crown gears. 1.7. AFX Racemasters stock # 70638. Release Date: 2010. Chassis material: Nylatron. Traction Magnets: level 30 Neodymium. This is the second iteration of the Mega-G chassis. This is the longer (1.7") version designed for the new Formula cars and the LMP cars. These bodies DO NOT require a body clip. This chassis will NOT fit the older formula cars (Super G+, Racing Turbo or SRT) as the new chassis’ are longer and narrower than the older chassis versions. They had 7 tooth pinions and 25 tooth crown gears. The MKII version does not have the removable bulkheads and changes were made to the magnets to adhere to tightened federal child safety laws.
